Victory at Indoor Athletics Three teams from Year 6 took place in an inter-school indoor athletics tournament at Ifield Community College. Each team took part in six multi-sport activities that were either timed or measured. Each team earned points for every event and these were added together at the end. Our teams came 1st, 3rd, and 5th!
Reading Wristbands Well done to all those children who have read to an adult at home each night this week. They will be wearing a special wristband as a reward! Reading Workshop It was wonderful to see so many of our Team 1 parents in school this week. Lots of parents came along to a special ‘reading workshop’ where they were given information and advice on the crucial, early stages of helping their child in the journey to becoming confident young readers. Harvest Assembly Thank you so much to all those parents who came to watch the Harvest Assembly led by Year 4. The children did a tremendous job giving three performances all in the same day. Thank you also to all those who gave tins and packets so generously. They have been gratefully received by Crawley Open House. Hot School Meals We have been informed by West Sussex County Council that the cost of the hot school meals will be increased from the start of November 2009. For those parents/carers who pay for their child’s meals the daily cost will be £2.10. West Sussex County Council have found it necessary to increase the cost to meet the inflationary pressures of increased distribution and labour costs.ASDA Dairy Bus The ASDA Dairy Bus is visiting the school. Each class will have the opportunity to visit the bus and learnt about milk production and even milk a mechanical cow! |
