The role of the Governing body The Governors are like a Board of Directors who have legal duties, powers and responsibilities. They make decisions about how the school is run. They meet together as a whole body at least once a term, and also operate through committees, each of which also meets at least once a term. The governing body is responsible for ensuring the quality of education is of the highest standard. They also agree the school budget, agree a range of school policies and appoint the Headteacher for the school. |
